The time is once again here for the opening of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you have yet to see it you are in for a real holiday treat! The lights dance to the music every 15 minutes and some "Florida snow" falls too!

I was truely amazed by the number of lights used in this display. It all takes place in The Streets Of America area of the theme park. The history behind it is that back in 1986 Arkansas businessman Jennings Osbourne asked his daughter what she would like for Christmas and she replied the whole house decorated with lights. That first year only saw around 1000 ligfhts but it soon became an annual tradition with Osbourne adding more and more lights. It soon became a local attraction and drew many visitors, much to the annoyance of the local authorities because of the traffic problems. In the end the took them to court and put a stop to the Christmas Displays. Then along came a Mouse to the rescue and the the rest is history. Upto 80% of the lights used in the display are the original Osbourne lights.

The display is included in the normal addmission price of the ticket.

Enjoy!
