Walt Disney's Downtown Disney is a Shopping and Dining area nestled alongside Village
Lake at Lake Buena Vista. There are Three sections to the complex. West Side, Pleasure
Island and Disney Marketplace. All Three are connected together so you can walk
through them all except at night time when Pleasure Island is open.
Marketplace
Some of the shops and restaurants in the Disney Market place are Ghirardelli Soda
Fountain & Chocolate Shop, try the free samples of chocolate. There is also
a Rainforest Cafe, with a merchandise shop included, Goofy's Candy Store, McDonalds,
Earl of Sandwich (part owned by the son of the current Earl of Sandwich) and Fultons
Crab House, aboard an authentic looking riverboat type building. Other shops
include some huge Disney Stores selling everything you could think of. Much of the
merchandise would not be found at the theme parks.

Westside
Westside has has some big excellent shopping and dining. Such as a Virgin Mega-Store,
Bongo's restaurant owned by Gloria Estefan, The House of Blues, where you can dine
in the restaurant or watch top named acts perform in the auditorium and the much
acclaimed show La Nouba at Cirque du Soliel. There is also a multi-screen cinema,
several themed shops and of course Disneyquest.
The Virgin Mega-Store is huge and encompasses 2 floors. You can buy DVD's, Books,
CD,s and other items in the store.
House of Blues is owned by Dan Ackroyd and Jim Belushi and has some top names artists
appear on a regular basis. Take a look at
Florida Life and Leisure for more info on who is appearing. The is also
a merchandise shop containing lots of memorabilia devoted to the Blues Brothers.
Across from the House of Blues is DisneyQuest this indoor activity center caters
for kids and families. You can learn how to draw Disney cartoons, build and ride
your own rollercoaster and play on the latest video games plus much, much, more.
There are also 2 places to eat in there one of which is a fast food eatery by
the Cheesecake Factory.
