FROM PERFECT FLORIDA VILLAS

Walt Disney World Resort

The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom is probably the most popular and most famous of all the Orlando theme parks.

It has a magical attraction for both adults and children alike. It is situated about 15 minutes from International Drive and around the same time from most of the Orlando Villa communities.

EPCOT

Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow. This was the second of the theme parks to join Walt Disney World. The park opened in 1982 and was named EPCOT Center from 1982 to 1993. It was the largest Disney theme park in the world until 1998, when Disney's Animal Kingdom opened. The park consists of two sections, Future World and World Showcase.

Hollywood Studios

There are a few good attractions here but the park is going through some changes. With the removal of the hat centerpiece and the end of Indiana Jones stunt spectacular, it seems that some over due updates are coming to the theme park. It looks like Star Wars will become bigger at Hollywood Studios since Disney bought the rights to it.

Animal Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom opened on April 22, 1998. It is the largest Disney theme park and the second largest theme park in the world, covering more than 500 acres.

Typhoon Lagoon

An excellent water park and probably the most popular one in Orlando, always a great favourite.

Legend has it that a typhoon wreaked havoc upon a beautiful tropical paradise. The centre piece of the park is "Miss Tilly," a shrimp boat impaled upon a mountain named "Mount Mayday" that erupts a 50-foot column of water every 30 minutes.

Blizzard Beach

The second of Disney's water parks and also popular. It's aimed at the more energetic visitor with it's many slides and flumes. Blizzard Beach opened on April 1, 1995. The park's theme is that long ago, a unusual snowstorm hit the area, and so they decided to build a Ski Resort. Or course, the snow didn't last very long, and it left behind all of the ski jumps.

Disney's Boardwalk

Disney's BoardWalk Resort is a hotel complex at the Walt Disney World Resort that opened in 1996. It is often referred to as Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Disney's BoardWalk Villas. It is Located between Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios. Across the lagoon are Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort and behind it are the Walt Disney World Dolphin and the Walt Disney World Swan.

Disney Springs

The second of Disney's water parks and also popular. It's aimed at the more energetic visitor with it's many slides and flumes. Blizzard Beach opened on April 1, 1995. The park's theme is that long ago, a unusual snowstorm hit the area, and so they decided to build a Ski Resort. Or course, the snow didn't last very long, and it left behind all of the ski jumps.
